February 2015 is here and that means Social Dragon Marketing has been operating for three years! Whoo Hoo!
Over the last three years, I’ve learned so much about business and about myself. I have met wonderful people and can’t wait to see what the next three years will bring.
2015 for Social Dragon Marketing is all about system and processes and a new direction. I can’t wait to let you know more about that in the months to come.
Here are the top three lessons I’ve learned about business in the last three years!
1. Fear happens – All business owners have the same fear. We fear we aren’t good enough. Squash that fear because we ARE good enough! We’re amazing at what we do. As entrepreneurs, especially solopreneurs, we put a lot of love, sweat and tears into our businesses on a daily basis. We do this because we love what we do. And really, there is nothing greater than being able to do what you love every day.
2. Don’t play it safe – Nothing ever happens in your comfort zone. Every time you want something great, something you have never accomplished before, it happens when you leave your comfort zone. Being comfortable is a safe, warm feeling, but we cannot grow in the safe zone of our lives. When we grow, we become wiser, more experienced and great things can happen.
“Comfort is your biggest trap and coming out of comfort zone your biggest challenge.” ~ Manoj Arora
3. It’s okay to unplug – We are programmed to always be online, attached to our computers, our phones, our tablets and sometimes we have multiple devices going at one time. As someone who runs an online business, I cannot stress the importance of unplugging. You have to do it. Going offline recharges your brain, and helps you relax so you can do the important things in life without interruption.
I am always amazed at meetings where people are glued to their phone, texting away and answering phone calls and emails. Take a moment to turn off your devices and just be in the moment.
I want to hear from you! How long have you been in business? What business lessons have you learned?
