The following is a guest Q&A with my client Derek Brochu. Derek is the owner of Superior Tax Solutions in London, Ontario, and has over 4 years experience in the accounting, bookkeeping industry.
Derek has had success with social media and I’ve asked him a few questions to discuss his success for those who are still uncertain about the importance of social media for businesses.
When and why did you start using social media?
I started using social media when I launched Superior Tax Solutions in February 2012. I started social media right away as I understood how important it is to reach your audience. If they are online, I should be reaching out to them online.
I streamlined my social media right away so they were all working together. Since each social media channel complimented each other, I didn’t have to spend a lot of time on it.
What social media channels do you use?
Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn
What kind of success have you had with social media?
In less than 2 months, I’ve had one new client from Twitter and 4 new clients from Facebook.
What advice would you give other businesses that want to use social media and may be uncertain of its value and ROI?
To give it a try because social media is the new Yellow Pages.
Is there anything you did with your social media that made a difference?
2-3 times a week updates so clients know what to do and are informed with articles and interesting tips that pertain to them.
What do you like about social media?
It is free, fast and everyone is there.
Any other comments you would like to add?
Social Dragon Marketing makes it fast and easy (thanks Derek!)
